"The process of shooting, cooking and learning has been fun!"

Says Shveta Gulati referring to her latest show Jo Biwi Se Kare Pyaar on Sab TV which has a unique format of drama weaved into a cookery show.

In her decade long career, Shveta has been seen in many shows and is a known face. Her most popular show has been Remix after which she went on to do cameos till she got another prominent role in Dill Mill Gaye. She also had a stint of hosting in Zara Nach ke Dikha and tried her hand at comedy with Comedy Circus 3 - Teen Ka Tadka where she was paired with Kapil Sharma. However, after Gilli Gilli Gappa she was not to be seen anywhere for long, "That is because I did the musical extravaganza Jhumroo in Gurgaon. It kept me away from Mumbai for so long... it was a wonderful experience and now this!" she says referring to her latest show Jo Biwi Se Karein Pyaar on Sab TV.

Talking about how she got the show Shveta says, "Sab is not just a channel for me, it is like a home, an extended family so when they offered me the show there was no question of saying No to it as it was a unique and beautiful concept. Maybe it is a first attempt in the world but even if it is first in the country it is good enough reason to be a part of a production like this. Mine is a sweet character and I enjoy doing such light roles."

In the show Shveta plays a working woman and wife to Arjun Bijlani who stays at home and loves to cook for her. What is Shveta's take on food in real life? "I don't live to eat but eat to live but I love to eat good food which looks and tastes good too but I don't live to eat!"

All these years that she has been in the industry we have not seen Shveta doing reality shows either. Any reason for that? "Yes, that is because I don't like to mix my personal and professional life. After I come home I want a normal life, I don't want that reality shows interfere in my personal life and promote my life. I want rest and peace in my home and not publicity. Work is work but personal time is quality time to be spent with your loved ones."

The show is all about cooking, how does Shveta rate in that department? "I can cook everything right from Indian dishes to sweets. The only thing I can't cook is cakes and if I ever bake one good cake it will be after 5 bad cakes otherwise I can cook everything. However, when I am busy shooting I don't have the patience to cook as I am busy with my work but if I want to I can do it. All that chopping and cutting is taxing so I have a cook at home who cooks the daily food. And whatever time I have it is spent it with my three dogs at home, my 2 labradors and one cocker spaniel. They are sitting and begging for my time and I try to be with them instead of sweating it out in the kitchen.

So it must be fun on the sets since she can get to learn more dishes. "On the sets whatever we have cooked so far I already knew those dishes but then I have learned how to make the process easy. Not because they are our sponsors but genuinely I think Prestige have really nice appliances and now that I see them being used on the sets I feel Oh wow, cooking can't be as difficult as you think it is'... it can be made easy too by using the right appliance and making life easy. So the process of shooting and cooking and learning has been total fun!"

"My on-screen brothers are like 'Dilli ke yaar' for me"

says Abhishek Bajaj aka Ishan of Meri Bhabhi who talks about how he did he bag the show Meri Bhabhi, his rapport with the co-stars and much more 

Actor Abhishek Bajaj who is currently seen as Ishan in DJ's popular show Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi...Meri Bhabhi on Star Plus' is very similar in his real life when compared to his reel life character of Ishan who is a fun loving guy in the show. 

Talking about his background and about bagging the show Meri Bhabhi, Abhishek says, "I am born and brought up in Delhi and I am a Punjabi guy. I did my Economics honors from Delhi and I was doing modeling there. I am a soccer player and a cricket player too; I used to play league matches. It's just 1 and a half year that I am in Mumbai. I wasn't here for modeling purpose or acting; I just came here for a family function and then I came to know about auditions going on so I opted to give auditions and I got selected in the very first round of the audition. Then I got my first show Nayi Umr Nayi Chunauti - Parvarrish - Agla Padav which was also produced by the same production house. I shot with them in the month of July for Parvarrish and my track was going good. I took a break of 2-3 months as my track in the show was not promising enough so I got chose to do commercials then and got busy with it later. After that only, they offered me Meri Bhabhi and this is how the show happened to me."

When asked Abhishek whether is he similar in real life when compared with his on-screen character Ishan, he says, "In some ways I am related to him. I am very chilled out and a fun loving guy like Ishan. He is always ready to take a stand for anything and he is possessive about his family. These are some of his qualities which make me relatable to the character of Ishan."

The entire Meri Bhabhi unit shares a very good bonding with each other, elaborating on the same, Abhishek further added, "We share a very good bonding with each other. I have got very good co-stars to work with. My on-screen brothers are like 'Dilli ke yaar' for me. We are very close to each other and the same kind of bonding we share with my on-screen bhabhi (Esha Kansara), On-screen sister (Kanchi Kaul), Kuku sir (Kanwaljit Singh) and Supriya ma'am (Supriya Pilgaonkar). They all are very good persons and I am having a very good experience being a part of the show."

"Right now I am focusing on the show, I haven't planned anything for future as of now," consludes Abhishek when asked about his future plans.

The fourth season of 'Dance India Dance Season 4' promises to take the dance competition a notch higher than in the previous seasons, says choreographer Mudassar Khan who will be seen judging the show along with other choreographers Shruti

The fourth season of 'Dance India Dance season 4' promises to take the dance competition a notch higher than in the previous seasons, says choreographer Mudassar Khan who will be seen judging the show along with other choreographers Shruti Merchant and Feroz Khan.

Originally the show was judged by choreographers Geeta Kapur, Remo DSouza and Terence Lewis who will remain an integral part of the show.

"All three of us are new. We can't compare with the old judges but we want to do better than them. We have to take the show to a new level and there are many new dance forms and variations which we have added," Khan told in a telephonic interview.

The theme of the show this time is 'Dance it Out' and Khan added that they promise to try and depict the problems faced by people via dance.

"'Dance it out' is a nice revolutionary line. We will go to many places and ask them about their problems and once people tell us we will plan dances on those subjects. The message of the show is to forget all your problems and dance it out," he said.

The choreographer also added that the auditions this year were excellent and the judges had to even send back some good dancers.

"The auditions, especially in Delhi, were amazing. They were so good. We got so many contestants. The rest of the cities also had good dancers. We had to say no to many good dancers. We have taken the best of the best," he said.

Khan has choreographed songs like "Humka peeni hai" in "Dabangg" and "Pandeyji seeti" in "Dabangg 2". He has also choreographed "Party all night" in the recently released film "Boss". He runs his own hip hop school and is the owner of the dance group "Sharpshooterz".

Talking about his future plans, the choreographer said that although he has movies lined up he wants to give "Dance India Dance" his full attention now.

Best known for the 1987 pathbreaking sci-fi superhero film 'Mr. India', actor-producer Anil Kapoor Wednesday confirmed his presence in the cult movie's sequel.

"How can there be a 'Mr. India' sequel without me? Of course, I will be in it and will start work on it very soon," Anil told media persons while speaking about his debut television production '24 tele-series'.

"Even after 25 years, the movie has great recall value. I am always asked about the film," he added.

The seasoned actor will be next seen in the sequel to the hit comedy 'Welcome' titled 'Welcome Back' and the next part of 'No Entry' as well.

Currently Anil is on a roll, thanks to "24". It has garnered widespread appreciation for the concept, performance and technical superiority.

Directed by Abhinay Deo, '24 tele-series' airs on Colors channel. In the show, Anil plays the lead role of Jai Singh Rathod, the chief of an anti-terrorist unit. The actor will start shooting the last three episodes of the 24-episode series on November 2.

In Agnidev Chatterjee's 'Tere Aane Se', the audience will get to see different stages of his character's life and one of them is that of a college student.

The 39-year-old considers himself to be lucky as he is not overweight, but to justify his role he takes out time from his hectic schedule and works out.

"I am more into cardio now. When you run, your entire body is taken care off. I've never done weight (training). Luckily, I don't have a sweet tooth nor I eat rice. There are diet restrictions, but I never used to have all that so everything is in control," Hiten, who had earlier played a college student in 'Krishna Cottage' in 2004.

"You need to look lean. Luckily, I am not on heavier side. I do cardio once in the morning or evening," he added.

The romantic thriller, which also stars Purab Kohli and Rituparna Sengupta, is expected to hit theaters in summer of 2014.

He will also be seen in Akshay Kumar - starrer 'It's Entertainment'.

"It's a small role. I play an actor in the film," said Hiten, who is popular in the TV industry for his stint in shows like 'Pavitra Rishta', 'Kya Huaa Tera Vaada' and 'Kutumb'.

Rib-tickling 'Ram-Leela' at 'Diwali Dhamaka'

There were various versions of 'Ramleela' and now Zee TV's 'Diwali Dhamaka' will present Lord Ram's life story in a

different and much more entertaining manner.

Set in modern times, the fun-filled Ramleela act will see contestants of 'India's Best Dramebaaz' - Praneet Sharma, Zenith Patel, Chinmay Deshkar, Nihar Hemant Gite, Aditya Singhal, Tejaswini Deshmukh and Honey Kilwani - playing different roles.

While Nihar will play cool Ravan, Pranit will make the viewers laugh in his Hanuman avatar with one liners like "Ram, you don't even respond to my Whats app and Facebook messages?", said in a statement.

The 'super moms' from 'Dance India Dance' will perform on 'Dhol baje' from upcoming film, 'Ram-leela' and 'Dance India Dance L'il masters' - Jeet Das, Om Chetry, Shreya Acharya, Shalini Moitra and Rohan Parkale - will be shaking a leg to the groovy tunes of 'Lungi dance' from 'Chennai Express' and 'Gandi baat' from 'Bullet Raja'.

Other actors including Savita Prabhune and Farida Dadi will also be seen participating in fun games.

"The show promises to give a fresh dose of entertainment," said Ajay Bhalwankar, ZEEL, Content Head (Hindi GECs).

"This year, we will wish our viewers a happy, healthy, prosperous and successful Diwali and New Year with 'Diwali Dhamaka'. It aims to get a smile on every member's face in the family with its amazing and diverse line up of acts," Bhalwankar added.

"I wish he could go on and on for life...but Test cricket is a physical sport and gradually youngsters take over. The demands are tough on the body," Anil told reporters while interacting with fans.

Tendulkar announced early this month that the two-Test series against the West Indies will bring the curtain down on his illustrious 24-year-long career.

The cricketing great will be playing his 199th Test at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata Nov 6-10 and the farewell match at the Wankhede in Mumbai Nov 14-18.

"The best thing is that youngsters who never used to watch TV are hooked to it. They have something to watch now...even men have something to watch on TV besides the family soaps. I have heard that women and kids are also liking it," Anil told reporters here on Wednesday.

"Usually my family is divided in opinion when it comes to my ventures...there is groupism in my family, but everybody loves '24'," added the 56-year-old, recently seen in films like "Shootout At Wadala" and 'Race 2'.

Quizzed on not foraying into television earlier, Anil said, "I had been offered to judge reality shows, but I didn't feel good enough. However with '24'...it felt like my calling. I have never been scared of failure and I thought the maximum that could happen was the show wouldn't work."

About the forthcoming episodes, our reliable source informs us saying, "Shiv apologies to Anandi and there is a romantic sequence to be followed then. On the other hand in the Badi Haveli the preparations are going in full swing to welcome Ganga as Jagdish's wife in the family, with all the rituals."

But well these happy times are not happy for Saanchi, "Furthermore at Shiv's home everybody seems to be upset with Saanchi. Saanchi is seen very lonely and feels bad and guilty about whatever she has done."

Later Anandi tells Shiv that he shouldn't avoid Saanchi and on the occasion of Bhai-Dooj, he should celebrate the rituals with Sanchi."

"I get good feelings about the show while shooting."

Says Iqbal Khan - the man with the husky voice who is back on prime time TV after a break with Tumhari Paakhi.

Iqbal Khan was last seen in Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli a year back after which many were waiting for him to do another prime time show. However, Iqbal took it easy and after being seen in the episodic Teri Meri Love Stories, he is now back with a new show as the main lead. 

So what prompted him to take up this show? "I said OK to Tumhari Paakhi since the production house is a reputable one. The producer writer duo Shashi & Sumeet Mittal are the best in terms of writing and sensibility. Also the growing popularity of Life OK was a deciding factor. When all these things were combined it was a very tempting offer." 

Talking of offers it is not that there was a dearth of offers for Iqbal, "I feel I have been consistent in my breaks. I have never been deliberately sitting at home. Things happen at the right time and good things have always happened to me. The TV industry has been kind to me and offers were always there. However, due to other commitments I could not take up much work." 

Iqbal who plays the main lead Anshuman in the show is excited to be part of the project which has been shot on a lavish scale, "We have had lots of outdoor shoots. The story has a Rajasthani backdrop so we have shot in Chittor, Udaipur, etc to get the real feel to the show. We have also shot at Shimla, Panchgani too and the look of the show is really grand."

Born in Kashmir, Iqbal has done his schooling in Shimla and has fond memories of the place, "I am born in Kashmir but I have schooled in Shimla. I was in a boarding school in Kasauli from my 6th to the 12th std. They were beautiful times and I have lovely memories of that place. By God's grace I was in a nice school and have spent carefree days in that beautiful place. So it was awesome when I got to visit all those places again when I went for the shooting of Tumhari Paakhi. I tried to visit all corners even though we were busy shooting and on the last day of my shoot I left early to go and visit my school."

While Iqbal says he enjoyed his boarding school days he missed out on food at that time, "During my growing up days I used to miss home-made food since I was in boarding for my studies, so now I love eating good food. Having said that I also want to add that I feel fittest in the month of Ramadan when I keep rozas and fast."

Despite his foodie indulgences Iqbal still looks fit after the break and thinks that God has been kind to him, "As I said earlier I love food and am a foodie but at the same time I have been trying my best to keep fit. All this time during my break I never quit training at the gym and always try to eat ok."

There were reports that Iqbal was mobbed by fans while shooting. However, the humble actor refuses to believe it and says, "I think the minute you put the camera on the road, the crowds gather so it is more for the camera rather than the actor. However, there are some hardcore fans who keep updating my pix and info on social networking sites. I don't know from where they get all the info and some things are such that even I am not aware of but they get to know about it first." 

At the moment Iqbal is focused on the show, "I hope and pray that this is good! I get good feelings while shooting for the show and the response that I have got for the promos and also for the song that was released has been amazing."

While Iqbal is happy for his new show, it is also keeping him away from his two year old daughter Amaara, "Amaara has just turned two now and the best thing about my long break has been the time I got to spend with her during her early years. I have been a hands on parent and no one can say that I was not there for her, especially my wife Sneha (laughs). I believe that it was the best time in my life and now when I am back busy shooting, I miss her the most."

We are sure all that will be worth it when Iqbal gets popular yet again and gets unadulterated attention from his fans.

Further she elaborates saying, "Seems that they think that I started working at a very young age and have stuck around since long. But the truth is I am still young (laughs)."

When we asked her on how she reacts when she reads such rumors, here is what she said, "I always laugh at it whenever I hear it. I wonder what pleasure people get for spreading such rumors?"

An advice she would like to give to the people who face such rumors, "I just take these rumors with a pinch of salt. It is a part of one's life whether he/she is a celebrity or not. Rumors never leave you," says Sana.

Popular playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan recorded the title song of upcoming TV show "Tumhari Pakhi". She said she enjoyed singing the number that talks about longing.

"The song is about longing and has been composed beautifully. I had a great time singing it. It is a song with mixed feelings," Sunidhi said.

"The song is from Paakhi's perspective. She has been waiting for Anshuman, her true love, to come back for the past many years," she added.

Sachin Gupta, who composed for films like "Prince", has scored the music for the song.

'Tumhari Paakhi', produced under Shashi Sumeet Productions, is set to go on air on November 11 on Life OK and features Iqbal Khan and Shraddha Arya in the lead roles.

'Savdhaan India Maha Movie', which airs on Life OK, is a two-hour-long movie that focuses on crime.

This week's story is based in Goa, and explores complexities of human relationships.

It focuses on the bond between a brother and his sister and revolves around the lives of Akshay, played by Chandrachur, and Ravina, essayed by Arya Banerjee.

When Akshay goes out on a family vacation, he spots Ravina and starts following her. Ravina, however, insists on her identity being Ruby and refuses to acknowledge Akshay at all.

After a series of incidents Akshay confides in his wife that Ravina is his estranged sister.

What follows next is a series of unfortunate events that leaves Akshay entangled in a web of drugs, smuggling and his struggle to save his sister.

The episode featuring Chandrachur, who was part of films like 'Maachis' and 'Josh', will air on Sunday.

Sharing about her happiness, Aditi says, "We have been loved by children's very much and also from the kids who stay abroad as they follow our show regularly. They send messages, call us and appreciate our work which makes us really happy. They are hardcore fans of the show Baal Veer, and now we will stay in their drawing room and play room too. They will play with our characters in the Baal Veer game which was launched recently."

Shamin Manan to be seen in a show on Epic TV?

The gorgeous actress Shamin Manan who was last seen in Swapna Waghmare's popular daily soap Sanskaar - Dharohar Apnon Ki season 1 on Colors, who played the popular character of Bhoomi and entertained the audience with her acting skills, might be seen in a historical show on Epic TV.

Recently Shamin Manan was also offered to play the role of Yashodhara in the ongoing historical show Buddha on Zee TV.  and now she has been offered a show on Epic TV.

"I have been reading all the messages and mails that have been coming my way ever since Ayaan and Zoya got married and although they are not all in a positive light I am still ready to accept all the anger because it only reflects your love for the show.

I cannot even begin to thank you guys enough for loving the show so much. To address all the anger, all I would like to say is that this track was not devised because of any other reason than it was always part of the concept when we started the show and it was devised to create conflict between the two brothers and enhance drama - as is often the need in stories with "no end".
But now, the track is ending and Asad and Zoya will get together.

'Kai Po Che' star Sushant Singh Rajput says his love and passion for cinema are his driving force to do something new onscreen.

"I don't work for fame and money. I work for the love and passion of cinema. For me, it does not matter if I am acting in films or TV or doing theatre. The day I stop getting interesting work in films, I would go back to doing TV," Sushant told reporters here at a promotional event of his upcoming film 'Shudh Desi Romance'.

The actor became a household name with TV serial 'Pavitra Rishta'.In his upcoming romantic-comedy film 'Shuddh Desi Romance', Sushant is seen locking lips with newcomer Vaani Kapoor.

There were reports that things went wrong between him and his girlfriend Ankita Lokhande after the scene. But Sushant denies them, saying, "There were no issues about it (kissing). She (Ankita) is quite supportive, she knows its part of my job, she is an actor too," Sushant said.

The event saw the launch of a new song 'Gulabi' from the film. Also, newcomer Vaani was introduced to the media. Going by the theme of the song, the two actors were dressed in pink and the set was decorated with pink color frills.

Going by the title of the film 'Shuddh Desi Romance', Sushant said it was a different kind of a love story set in rural India.

"There are lot of love stories being made mostly outside India. Our film is different, presenting the issues, problems between love and commitment in a desi way," Sushant said. Directed by Maneesh Sharma and also starring Parineeti Chopra, the film is slated to be released on September 6.

Sushant also revealed that his girlfriend and television star Ankita was considered for the upcoming romantic comedy 'Happy New Year' starring Shahrukh Khan.

"I know she was considered for this film. It's a big film and it feels good that she was considered. It's a big thing," Sushant said.

Ankita became popular after playing the role of Archana Manav Deshmukh in Ekta Kapoor's 'Pavitra Rishta'. 

Ratan to slap Surjeet; Veera to be caught cheating during exams

The popular show Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera (Beyond Dreams Productions), on Star Plus, has been cashing in on some really fast-paced drama in some of its earlier episodes like Chhaiji (Shagufta Ali) suffering a heart attack and the little kids Ranvi (Bhavesh Balchandnani) and Veera (Harshita Ojha) fighting the thieves in their home all alone.

And now in the coming episodes, gear up for some action-based drama in the show. As informed earlier, Surjeet Singh (Dayashankar Pandey) will take away Ratan’s (Sneha Wagh) land by duping her on the pretext of offering financial help for Chhaiji’s medical expenses. As she will come to know about the truth, an enraged Ratan will promise to give it back to him.

A source informs us that Ratan will call the Panchayat and inform them of Surjeet’s ill motives. But turning a blind eye to his ploy, the villagers will rather see his good deed of helping out Ratan.

When Ratan will get to confronting him, Surjeet will make indecent advances towards her and inform her that he has feelings for her. This is when Ratan will lose her cool and give a tight slap to him shocking the entire Panchayat.

Being a shrewd man, Surjeet will pledge to take a revenge on Ratan. What will be his next move? Let’s wait and watch…

On the other hand, Baldev (Devish Ahuja) will plan to teach his cousin Veera a lesson after being humiliated by her. He will put some chit papers in her bag and on the day of her exams, the teacher will catch Veera red-handed with the chits and hold her guilty of cheating.

“But Ranvi knows that Veera writes in big letters and thus he will definitely save her with some proofs,” the source adds.
